Bridging cultural and social divides for indigenous health in Peru
Significant health differences exist between indigenous peoples and the rest of the population in Latin America. Intercultural health programs are bridging the gap between Western-style medicine and traditional practices in government-provided health services. IDRC-supported researchers are studying these initiatives to understand the implementation challenges facing these programs, including factors such as social inequity.
