Más información

Focusing on reducing the gender gap, the project aims to strengthen analytical capacities in economics in Francophone Africa.

In its 25 years of existence, the Interuniversity Postgraduate Program in Economics (PTCI - Economics) has trained more than 2,397 master’s level students and 203 doctorate/PhDs in economics, about 17% of them women. Despite these achievements, there is a low representation of women economists in general and among PTCI graduates in particular. With the support of IDRC, PTCI will respond to this by sponsoring 100 women to get their PhDs in economics by 2025. In addition to increasing the supply of qualified personnel in higher education and economics research in Francophone Africa, this will contribute to a gender rebalancing in the profession.
