Support to the African Green Revolution Forum 2019–2022

The African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) is one of the most visible and well-attended high-level agricultural and food security events in Africa. The purpose of the AGRF is to create and sustain effective partnerships geared towards the transformation of African agriculture. The AGRF brings together senior political and government officials, business leaders, grassroots organizations, farmers, researchers, donors, development partners, global thought leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss and debate innovative and practical ways to promote investments and policy support for increased agricultural productivity and income growth for African farmers.

The AGRF provides an opportunity for IDRC to raise its visibility as a leading centre that invests in agricultural research and development contributing to Africa’s agricultural transformation. It connects IDRC-funded researchers to a broad and high-level constituency of actors in the agriculture sector, raising their profile and ensuring their research results feed into policy processes. This project supported technical and financial contributions to the forum, which play a valuable role in continuing to make the event a premier platform to discuss and develop concrete plans for achieving inclusive agricultural transformation in Africa, and to highlight the role of research and innovation in driving that transformation. The AGRF is convened by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, which is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.
