Improving prospects for data enabled livelihoods among marginalized communities : data for development in the Middle East and North Africa
node (MENAdata) 2019 – 2021
The project is implemented by the Open Data for Development (OD4D) regional hub in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The MENA data hub is laying foundations for the future of work, governance and innovation on data for development, with a growing community of data literates and data experts. The project has identified problem areas of: data scarcity, lack of skills, weak infrastructure, non-aligned policies and the absence of governance. Data scarcity was also identified by the Open Data Barometer (2016) with indirect links to policies and governance. The report covers activities and accomplishments to date in the data for development project.
