Centre for Global Development Visiting Fellowship Program

The Center for Global Development (CGD), located in Washington DC, is a globally preeminent think tank with unique networking and reach. Its Visiting Fellowship Program offers fellowships to scholars from think tanks and academic research institutions in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Over the period from 2012 to2017, IDRC funding will allow at least five scholars to be IDRC Visiting Fellows at the CGD (usually for a one-year period). During their fellowships, the scholars will undertake high-quality research while benefiting from the advice of a mentor, the support of a research assistant, and interaction with other CGD senior fellows. CGD's professional communications team will provide guidance on how to share research results with Canadian and international policymakers and development practitioners. The IDRC Fellows will participate in meetings and networking events within the Washington-based research and development community, and will take the lessons learned back to their home institutions. In turn, the Fellows' presence will broaden CGD's research and policy outreach activities by ensuring that developing-country expertise and perspectives are integrated into its work.
