Highlight: Forging the new Indonesia-Canada partnership
Canada and Indonesia share a mutual interest in building a stronger relationship and closer business ties, a recent high-level meeting in Jakarta heard. Areas identified for collaboration include trade, regional security, education, transport infrastructure, and agriculture and food security.
Canada’s Centre for International Governance Innovation and Indonesia’s Centre for Strategic and International Studies organized the Indonesia-Canada Bilateral Forum, Innovation and Change: Forging the New Indonesia-Canada Partnership. IDRC co-sponsored the meeting, held May 26-27, 2015.
Forum participants included Daniel Jean, Canada's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy; Canada’s Ambassador to Indonesia Donald Bobiash; and Indonesia’s Ambassador to Canada Teuku Faizasyah.
