Catalytic climate finance: a global learning hub

 

This project will help close the finance gaps that currently hinder effective and inclusive climate action, including access to clean energy. It will support the development of a learning hub in the Catalytic Climate Finance Facility, which focuses on scaling sustainable climate finance in under-financed sectors in developing countries with an emphasis on promoting gender equality and supporting local capacity. It aims to increase the available pipeline of bankable solutions by closing a common gap in financial vehicles, providing funding, technical assistance and knowledge resources, particularly at early stages of project development.

The new learning hub that is being supported under this project will generate new evidence and highlight existing evidence on best practices ─ knowledge that can contribute to accelerating the mobilization of private capital and achieving positive socioeconomic and environmental impacts. Using a cross-cutting gender and local capacity development lens, the focus will be on scaling climate finance solutions for sustainable development, including an inclusive energy transition.
