Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe Regional Learning Hub for the Women’s Voice and Leadership Learning Partnership

This project is part of the Women’s Voice and Leadership Learning Partnership, a five-year initiative with Global Affairs Canada that accompanies the renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) program to enhance the efforts and impacts of more than 2,200 women’s rights organizations, LGBTQI+ groups and feminist movements. In Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe, the renewed WVL presence is composed of four projects, all of which will participate in this project.

The Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe Learning Hub is anchored in a vision of inclusive, intergenerational and well‑connected feminist movements across the region, where women’s rights organizations and LGBTQI+ groups have the relationships, practice‑based knowledge and supportive ecosystems needed to sustain change. The hub will strengthen shared learning, deepen collaboration and generate regionally grounded materials that reflect lived experience. It will prioritize peer‑to‑peer, locally led knowledge exchange, enabling its partners to reflect and co‑create solutions responsive to their realities.

Learning will take place through three regional learning journeys, which will include structured reflection sessions, mentorship and action‑learning spaces, alongside documentation of practice‑based learning and translation of insights into accessible, creative formats (such as guides, storytelling and multimedia). The hub will also facilitate connections with policymakers and regional decision-makers to strengthen advocacy efforts that advance gender equality. The anticipated outcome is a more connected, confident and resilient feminist ecosystem in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe able to learn collectively, use evidence for advocacy and influence change.
