This project is designed to support evidence-informed policy discussions and debates in various regions, aiming to improve collaboration between research centres and the National Congress in Peru to advance inclusive and sustainable development. Led by more than 40 public and private research organizations, the initiative will synthesize evidence on priority development issues and challenges to facilitate evidence-based debates, build consensus and contribute to defining a long-term national development agenda.

The project also intends to strengthen a platform for public debate and highlight the role of major research institutions in informing decisions on complex development matters. It will position research institutions as key contributors to constructive, evidence-based policymaking. Through these efforts, the project aims to build trust, foster policy innovation, enhance sectoral and regional collaboration and contribute to a shared vision for Peru’s sustainable and equitable future.

The project will synthesize and translate knowledge for local audiences through workshops, seminars and public forums to engage stakeholders such as government officials, academics, civil society organizations and private sector associations. It will work with other IDRC grantees in the region to facilitate knowledge exchange in Peru. The project will also use digital media and online platforms to reach a broader audience and support ongoing dialogue on research for development and research-to-policy topics in Peru, both domestically and internationally.
