Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Learning Hub for the Women’s Voice and Leadership Learning Partnership

This project is part of the Women’s Voice and Leadership Learning Partnership, a five-year initiative with Global Affairs Canada that accompanies the renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) program to enhance the efforts and impacts of more than 2,200 women’s rights organizations, LGBTQI+ groups and feminist movements. In Latin America and the Caribbean, the renewed WVL presence is composed of five projects, all of which will participate in this project.

The Latin America and the Caribbean Learning Hub is anchored in a vision of strong, interconnected and transformative feminist movements across the region, where women’s rights organizations, youth collectives and LGBTQI+ groups have the capacity and the supportive ecosystems needed to advance gender justice. The hub will be guided by feminist approaches that recognize how different forms of inequality overlap and seek to challenge longstanding barriers faced by marginalized groups. It will strengthen peer-to-peer learning, deepen collaboration and capture local expertise and lived experience from partners across Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, Central America and the Caribbean.

Learning will take place through peer-to-peer exchanges, in-person and virtual convenings, learning laboratories, technical accompaniment, community-led inquiry and multilingual, intergenerational processes. By nurturing a horizontal learning ecosystem, the hub will strengthen reflective and transformative practices, support evidence generation and contribute coordinated actions and strategies that advance gender equality. The anticipated outcome is a more connected, confident and resilient feminist ecosystem in Latin America and the Caribbean able to learn collectively, use evidence for advocacy and influence change.
