Premiere of "Forward Home:" The economic power of Caribbean overseas communities

The documentary "Forward Home," produced as part of IDRC'sOpportunities in CARICOM Migration : Brain Circulation, Diasporic Tourism, and Investment project, reveals the economic power of the Caribbean's overseas communities. The 30-minute film showcases the experiences of peoples who navigate the spaces between Caribbean countries and global cities as travellers and entrepreneurs, and the organizations that make this relationship possible.

The Ottawa premiere of the documentary took place on September 9, 2011 at IDRC head office. The screening was followed by a discussion with the project leader, Keith Nurse, Director, Shridath Ramphal Centre, University of the West Indies, and Carlo Dade, former Executive Director, FOCAL.
