TTI Phase 2 Institutional Support: Fundacio´n Doctor Guillermo Manuel Ungo

This funding will strengthen Fundación Dr Guillermo Manuel Ungo's (FUNDAUNGO) role as a credible public policy institution in El Salvador by enhancing its ability to provide high-quality, influential, and policy-relevant research.

About FUNDAUNDO
FUNDAUNGO is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. Its mission is to contribute to El Salvador's democratic development in order to improve the population's quality of life. Its research agenda is organized around three programs: democratic governance, territorial management and citizenship, and public policy studies. It receives its funding from the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).

Sound research, policy influence
TTI is a multi-funder program dedicated to strengthening independent policy research institutions, or think tanks, in developing countries. The program aims to enhance their ability to provide sound research that informs and influences policy.

This second TTI phase (2014?2019) will fund 43 institutions, helping them consolidate their role as credible development actors in their countries, and in some cases, regionally and internationally. For FUNDAUNGO, this project will help enhance its research quality, organizational performance, and policy engagement.

Centre of excellence for El Salvador
Through this support over the next 4.5 years, FUNDAUNGO is expected to
-position itself for a smooth transition to the next generation by improving junior and mid-career researchers' research and managerial capabilities

-integrate resource mobilization as part of its strategy and operations
-make progress on the path to long-term sustainability by securing multiple funding partners
