Stabilization and adjustment: towards inclusive and sustainable policies in the Middle East and North Africa

This project will produce evidence for public policies in response to growing economic austerity, ongoing structural economic change and social discontent in the Middle East and North Africa, including Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia. Its objective is to develop macro-economic scenarios with improved external and internal balances, and a program of structural reforms that can foster sustainable and inclusive growth paths.

It will promote informed debates with policymakers, the private sector and civil society, including newly emerging voices of youth and women. It will support learning across regions that face common challenges, including with countries that can propose innovations and best practices that can be adapted to local contexts. It also aims to ensure that locally generated evidence informs global policy on debt and recovery.
