Steven Morris

As acting director of the Corporate Communications Division, Steven oversees communication efforts that support IDRC’s knowledge sharing goals and objectives, including public affairs, writing and editing, digital communications and corporate engagement initiatives.  Steven has worked in the communications field for more than 30 years. Before joining IDRC in 2016, he held a variety of operational and managerial positions within the Government of Canada, including the Canadian International Development Agency, Global Affairs Canada and Shared Services Canada. He has also served as the National Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations for the Canadian Red Cross Society and was a radio reporter and editor with Radio-Canada in Atlantic Canada, Montreal and Ottawa. He holds degrees in political science from McGill University and in communications and journalism from Concordia University.
