Roberto Bazzani

Acting Regional Director, Latin America and the Caribbean
Roberto Bazzani, who joined IDRC in 1990, has worked in health programs during most of his career. He has over 30 years of experience in research for development in Latin America and the Caribbean and has a vast knowledge of the regional context, health systems and development issues. Roberto is a medical doctor (University of the Republic, Uruguay) and holds a MSc in public health (Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium). Before joining IDRC, he was adjoint professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, University of the Republic, in Montevideo, Uruguay, and head of the Planning Department of the National Food Institute.
