Matt Stenson

As Chief of Staff and Director of Corporate Affairs, Matt leads executive strategy, coordination and the management of the President’s Office. He oversees corporate-wide initiatives and serves as the Centre’s Chief Risk Officer.

Matt joins IDRC from Global Affairs Canada. Prior to this, he held senior policy advisory roles in the Office of the Minister of International Development, as well as in the Office of the Minister of Emergency Preparedness and President of the King’s Privy Council. He also brings extensive experience from the non-governmental sector, including program development and management roles with Oxfam Canada, CHF-Partners in Rural Development, and the Canadian Cooperative Association. Matt holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, Canada.
