Gender equality and inclusion in education: resources from the Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX)

The Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) is celebrating International Women’s Day by recognizing the important contributions of KIX partners in addressing gender equality and inclusion in education through their work in 70 countries worldwide.

Gender equality is both a cross-cutting theme across KIX projects, and identified as a priority theme in a fifth of the KIX portfolio. KIX has invested over CAD9 million in projects that directly address gender equality in education in the past year.

COVID-19 is an unprecedented crisis for education. KIX research has shown that while it has affected school children worldwide, female students have been disproportionately affected. But there is still hope in the lessons we are learning from the pandemic.

We hope you will help us celebrate International Women's Day by exploring how KIX is helping to create a more equitable future for us all.

Global Sisterhood Pledge for International Women’s Day

Our partner CAMFED (the Campaign for Female Education in Africa), supports girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn, thrive, and become leaders and change makers in their communities. CAMFED has created a Sisterhood across Africa, a peer support and leadership network of activists for girls’ education, gender equality, social and economic justice, and climate action. They’re now joining forces with supporters across the world to create the #CAMFEDsisterhood, a global movement of people determined to support women and girls everywhere to learn and lead, making the world a better place for everyone.
