Improving women’s reproductive health

Improving education around and access to family planning can help reduce unwanted pregnancies and prevent unsafe or illegal abortions.
With a better understanding of the negative consequences of multiple and closely spaced pregnancies on women’s health, couples can make informed decisions about the number and spacing of their children. This leads to lower maternal and child mortality. Additionally, proper prenatal care is critical for better pregnancy outcomes and for detecting and managing perinatal depression.
