Scope

The GPE Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX), a joint endeavour with IDRC, connects expertise, innovation, and knowledge to help countries strengthen education systems and accelerate progress toward SDG 4. This evaluation will:

  • Assess the implementation and results of the KIX applied research portfolio.
  • Document lessons and produce actionable insights to inform the support and implementation of new applied research projects in the KIX extension.

IDRC envisions evaluators using a phased approach to collect primary data and draw on existing data sources to pursue two main lines of inquiry, focusing on the effectiveness and impact of the KIX applied research portfolio.

Phase 1 (IDRC support): What were key strengths and challenges in supporting the implementation of the applied research portfolio?

Phase 2 (implementation and results): What were the key successes and challenges of applied research projects in conducting scaling research, facilitating capacity strengthening, undertaking knowledge mobilization, integrating gender equality and inclusion in their work and achieving intended results?
