Webinar: A Call to Action from the Global South on Scaling Impact

Are funders and development agencies helping or hurting scaling efforts in the Global South?
A webinar organized by the Scaling Community of Practice, featuring recent activities under the Scaling Science Initiative, will seek to answer this question.
Innovators in the Global South work hard to find solutions for global challenges. Unfortunately, good ideas and innovations are often underutilized, projects or programs end before they can deliver impact, and funders move on. At other times, funders pour resources into popular solutions that may have strong evidence for scalability at one scale, but ultimately fail to achieve impact at another.
As a step towards addressing challenges like these, a group of 18 researchers and innovators from across the Global South recently published a Call to Action from the Global South on Scaling Impact. Recognizing that scaling impact will require a coordinated partnership with funders and development agencies, the call puts forward a series of actions that will help to improve support for scaling impact.
Join us for this event to hear from the authors about this fresh and often-overlooked perspective on scaling the impact of development funding and to discuss the implications for funders and development agencies in their efforts to mainstream scaling into their practice.
