In 2020, the International Veterinary Vaccinology Network (IVVN), with support from IDRC, launched a fellowship program for women postdoctoral researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Funding was awarded to six projects with a focus on the development of vaccines for livestock.

Join IDRC and IVVN at an online event to celebrate the work of these six fellows and to learn about their exciting projects and the impact of the fellowship on their professional development. The event will include a panel discussion that will explore the opportunity gap faced by women researchers from LMICs. Audience members will have opportunities to ask the fellows about their projects. The event will be chaired by IVVN Director Tim Connelley, and IDRC Senior Program Officer Wendy Manchur.

See the program and register to attend.

About the Fellowship

This fellowship opportunity was designed to address the gap in mentorship and career advancement opportunities faced by early career researchers, which contributes to the underrepresentation of women from LMICs in the upper rungs of scientific research. We especially encourage early career researchers from low- and middle-income countries to attend this event to learn more about this and similar fellowship opportunities.
