In partnership with IDRC and Global Affairs Canada, iAffairs Canada and Carleton University are hosting a conference entitled “Democracy and Foreign Policy in an Era of Uncertainty.” 

Speakers from across Canada and the Global South will examine the interplay between democracy and international affairs as well as challenges to democracy. To obtain more information on the conference agenda, please follow the registration link.

Join us to explore democratic renewal in Canada and efforts to defend and promote democracy in the Global South, with a focus on issues such as platform governance, artificial intelligence, disinformation, diaspora networks, fragile states and populism.

The conference will take place on: 

  • September 18, 9 am to 5 pm – This open portion of the conference is both in person and online. 
  • September 19, 9 am to 3 pm – In person and by invitation.
