The author

Jorge Nef is Professor of Political Studies and International Development at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and has been a visiting professor in many Canadian and foreign universities. Prof. Nef is a past President of the Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CALACS) and former Editor of the Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
