Leadership

IDRC’s leadership brings together governance and executive management to guide the Centre’s strategic direction and support evidence‑based research for development.

The Board of Governors, made up of Canadian and international members appointed by the Government of Canada, sets strategic direction, reviews organizational performance and approves budgets. The Centre Management Committee, composed of IDRC’s senior staff members, including vice-presidents, regional directors and directors, supports the president in leading day-to-day operations, advising on corporate objectives, policies and programs, and advancing IDRC’s mission in Canada and internationally.

Together, these two leadership groups help keep IDRC accountable, strategically focused and well-positioned to support high-quality research and innovation led by people closest to the world’s toughest challenges.
